Recent Purchases

Sunday January 19th, 2014 at 10:28 am

Some recent purchases over the past few months. Most of what I bought in December was clothing, which I won’t display since it’ll take too much time/room and I would have to hunt down everything. I purchased a lot from Wet Seal and Aeropostale (since they had some killer holiday deals) and shirts/hoodies from woot.com. Most of the following are from eBay.

Too cute to pass up and it was only less than $2! This will help with putting on makeup/facial products.

$3.89 from eBay. I thought I’d give it a try to keep my hair from falling into my face all the time :(

Miao.

I waited 2 years for this!

I caved and finally bought one at a discounted price of $150. My friend’s code is: 0147-0129-9723 although I’m only playing Pokemon X atm.

I couldn’t decide whether or not to buy this but when there was only one left, I couldn’t say no. For $30, this is definitely my favorite wallet right now. It’s very cute and sturdy although the stiffness makes it hard for me to fit too much in the wallet.

I debated laser hair removal for the longest time and decided to give it a try with a group. It’s $129 for a small area, which isn’t bad after 91% off. I’m highly debating also getting the extra large package to have my legs done for a total of $508.

Late night shopping

Tuesday February 26th, 2013 at 1:28 am

It’s past 12 AM and I’m still sitting here shopping on the interwebs. I should head to bed soon since I already know I’m going to regret this in the morning. I never learn.

I can’t believe another birthday came and went. Can I say this has been the best one yet? YES! Especially since I haven’t celebrated “big” for many of my birthdays. My friends were super awesome! It still sucks getting older. I think time purposely speeds up with every year you age.

I’ve been doing too much shopping on eBay lately (minus the camera that was purchased on Amazon). Here are some of the most recent purchases:

I LOVE this (fake) Hello Kitty bag. I bought it mainly for me to take as a carry on when I’m going to China. It’s big enough for me to take enough things for me to be comfortable and entertained while I’m on a plan for 97239472 hours. And not to mention it’s absolutely adorable!

These shoes I found on the internet some time ago and had to have them! Who would have thought I could find them on eBay and for a pretty affordable price. I did not expect the heals to be as high but I think I can manage without breaking an ankle.

I have several stockings but not a pair of knee high socks. These don’t go as high as I wanted them too (maybe it’s my fault for having longer legs than most Asians) but they are indeed comfortable and look fine.

I am crazy cat lady, so sue me. I bought a size too small (damn kitten just grew up too fast!) so I need to do an exchange. Who can say no to Hello Kitty Darth Vader?

I have a really bad habit of switching bags and leaving things I need in one bag or another. This should help, just lift from one bag and into the other.

Another one for Luna that she might not like. I didn’t buy this one but one in black with pink hearts. The image that was posted on the selling page was too ugly so I posted this one instead. It’s a bit smaller than what I would like but it fits! The only carrier I had was the cardboard box the animal shelter gave me when I adopted her :(

Trying out double eyelid tape for the first time. These seem to have gotten pretty good reviews online.

And of course my camera things…

Can. Not. Wait. For. This. To. Be. Shipped. ARGH. Hurry up!!

Accidently bought this refurbished since it was late at night and all I saw was “oh! save $10! must buy this one!” and realized the next morning when I was randomly checking my emails that I had bought a refurbished one (no wonder why I saved $10…) At first I thought I had accidently bought my camera refurbished until I saw the price. But it’s just a bag so no big deal. It was probably better to save the money on it.

Of course had to buy a remote for taking self shots with ease!

I am still debating a ring light for the Nikon but it’s $134!! x_x Must decide if I want to try and be that professional right now, it’s tempting to have.

TGIF

Friday August 3rd, 2012 at 11:46 pm

My left eye has gotten infected again and I don’t know why since these are a new pair of contacts. It’s possible something got in them and me falling asleep with my contact on just made it worse. They were already irritating me throughout the day. My eye looks HORRIBLE right now. This is exactly why I wanted to get LASIK. I hate my life sometimes.

I hit a slight moment of depression earlier today after I paid my rent and credit card bill. I’m broke. August screwed me over with a lot of unnecessary payments, mainly $250 on my eyes alone and $220 on a hotel that I’m not staying at until the end of the month. I don’t think my bank account has ever been so low. Even my Pay Pal account is broke! I’m seriously debating a third job right now. I could work at my second job more during the week but 1) It would probably drive me crazy and 2) There’s not enough hours and I’d rather not work more than 2 extra days a week.

I could just win the lottery, but that would mean I would actually have to play. Haha…wishful thinking. Or I can stop buying things but that’s not going to happen so might as well figure out how to make more money. :/

I’m so happy to see TeamUSA win the gold in gymnastics! Am I the only one who feels inspired to see these young girls achieve their dreams? Sadly I quit gymnastics when I was a kid after they told me to go on the high beam and I was like fuck that. Me and heights do not get along well together.

What’s with China sucking this year? The women’s team barely placed in anything. Deng Lin Lin, who qualified for the women’s all around, wasn’t even very good this year. I know that she has more talent/skill than I ever will and competing in the Olympics with the whole world watching you is seriously nerve wrecking and you probably couldn’t pay me enough money to do it, but comparing her with what she did in the 2008 Olympics and the girls from USA and Russia this year, she just isn’t very good. I normally love to watch China compete in women’s gymnastics but this year was just sad.

I haven’t checked the Olympic medal count for tonight though, is US still ahead? It’s exciting to see USA and China go head to head on who has the highest medal count!

This has been a fairly good week for me (minus my eye irritating the crap out of me right now and the fact that I’m broke), I don’t get a chance to say that a lot. Outside of having to work tomorrow, I’m looking forward to the weekend. This will be the first year I’m going out to take advantage of tax free weekend and seeing if I can load up on some new clothes and shoes without breaking the bank. I would have loved to be able to nab an iPad 3 as well but I’m about $500 short for that :/

I spent Thursday afternoon making a mini photo studio so I can take better photos and also have more room for editing photos the way I want. It turned out great and I was able to get it done for less than $10! If you already have a box and tissue paper/fabric lying around, you can make one for next to nothing. I ran out of tape in the middle of it and had to run out to get more. Everything works great minus the fact I still have a slight lighting issue. Maybe this weekend I’ll look around for a lamp that I can use that provides sufficient lighting. I hear LED lights work best?

The images in my last Glossy Box review were all taken in the mini studio. The lack of lighting made it hard to edit images, which is why there’s kind of an inconsistency to the images. On the bright side, after 3 hours of editing, I can say I probably leveled up in my photoshoping skills.

Here’s one of the most exciting news of the week for me. I have been loaned a DSLR camera! It’s only for a couple months but I can’t say how happy I am to be able to use it for the next two months. My camera works great and has always done what I needed it to do but having a DSLR gives me more options. I need to look into getting a tripod so I can also start taking self photos. It’s time to camwhore out my blog.

The camera is a Canon EOS T1i.

I probably won’t get a chance to play around with it until tomorrow night, sadly.

Some new hauls for July: I made sure I took advantage of some deals before the month ended.

kiwiberry1: EOS Puffy 3-tone Grey contact lenses, 2 sets of fake eyelashes, and 2 contact lens cases

I managed to get everything for only $26 including shipping after their 50% off entire site sale! This was definitely the deal of the month. Everything’s been shipped, I’m just waiting for it to get here. Current deal for August lets new customers receive a 15% discount off their first purchase with code NEWCUST15.

Honey Color: Super Pinky Blue contact lenses, Super Pinky Green contact lenses, and Rohto Lycee Eyedrops 8mL (for Contact Lens)

The only thing I saved on at Honey Color was shipping for last month, which is still savings. Each of the contact lenses also come with their own adorable animal contact lenses case. No new deals have been announced as of yet.

ULTA: ULTA Eyeshadow in Iceland and ULTA Fabulous Face Pressed Powder

This one I couldn’t pass up on when I saw it. ULTA is offering a free 13 pc set (valued at $88) with any $17.50 ULTA brand products purchase. You can still take advantage of the deal now while supplies last. The set comes with a mixture of brushes, eye products, lip products, and skincare along with a makeup bag. There are 3 different style of bags to choose from. I got mine in mystic cool.

Totally worth it!

He Qi Crystal Designs: 2 custom made earring cuffs

I discovered HQCD through a giveaway I won that included a couple pieces of her custom made jewelry. I couldn’t help but wanting to get more so taking advantage of her 20% discount in July, I ordered 2 custom made earring cuffs and will probably get a third later. Check out her site if you are into custom jewelry or are wanting something different. She has a gorgeous line and is constantly adding new additions to the shop.

I wanted to order something from Yes Style as well, but didn’t have time to get an order in. Their site is HUGE! I didn’t have enough time to look through even most of the clothes. Outside of some sales, there wasn’t anything big going on in July but they were entering everyone who purchased something into an iPad 3 giveaway, which is what I really wanted ;_;

Time to go sort out the entries for my last giveaway. Winner will be announced shortly.

New Layout!! + Some new hauls

Saturday July 28th, 2012 at 4:53 am

I’m loving Kelly Clarkson’s Dark Side right now, not to mention she’s gorgeous.

Finally a new layout! I’ve been saying for probably months now “I need a new layout, I need a new layout”. I’m surprised I was able to mostly finish it tonight (even if it took me until 4:30 am). My last layout took a week to finish @_@ but that’s the joy of already figuring out most of the coding, you can reuse and go from there. There’s still some minor tweaking to be done here and there.

  • Need to make new header images for the sidebar.
  • Need to revamp the sidebar a bit content wise and looks.
  • Not every link above works yet, I need to spend some time one of these days to write content.
  • Color scheme here and there, I’m still playing around.
  • And whatever else my fickle mind decides to change
  • It’s a little plain but this layout is much simpler and easier on on the eyes than the previous one. I was getting so tired of the orange :/ I was originally going to use hearts but decided today to go with cherry blossoms since I might have a slight obsession with them.

This probably would have taken less time had my FTP not expired on me when I needed to use it. Even though I should have been able to renew my FTP for free, it wasn’t working so I said fuck it and downloaded a new one. I’ll miss WS_FTP LE, it’s been my favorite FTP since high school. FileZilla works well but I’m as fond of it.

I’m such a night owl. I’m far more productive at night than I am during the day :x

My friend recently came back from Korea and brought me a lot of stuff, some I bought and some are gifts. Expect reviews to come in the future for most of these!

The Hello Kitty perfume is awesome. It has a tropical, sweet smell that I love. If I can buy it online I’ll probably buy more in the future. The nail polish I got for fun. I might play around with it later or I might include it in a future giveaway.

These hand creams are adorable! I couldn’t help but get the set and then some. They’re shaped like little eggs and even came in a egg carton like packaging.

Etude House gave me a giant lip pillow for free because I apparently spent so much money there o_O

Isn’t this panda freaking cute? The phone is mine but the charm and phone jack were gifts :3

Jade Valerie is my favorite artist. Even though she’s no longer with Sweetbox, I really wanted one of her CDs.

I forgot to take a picture of it but I also got a pair of white sandals with wings.

These were a few items I bought myself some time back and they’ve just been sitting in my living room. The kitty paw cell phone charm also doubles as a screen cleaner! How cute is that?

    Pretty and Cute First Purchase!

    Wednesday April 25th, 2012 at 1:28 pm

I had an entire blog entry set for last night but something came up unexpectantly and changed all of my plans. At this time, I’m not sure if I want to go into it. It’s very personal and I still don’t know how to start or where to take it to. I need to sort of some of my feelings first and that I think will be the hardest. I’ll touch up on a few small stuff for now, not sure if more but smaller entries are good or if one large entry is good.

I finally placed my order to Pretty and Cute yesterday afternoon. I was waiting for some restocks but it didn’t seem like they got them and I didn’t feel like waiting anymore. Here’s a list of everything I purchased:

  • 2 My Beauty Diary: Bulgarian White Rose Mask @ $2.00 each
  • 2 My Beauty Diary: Japanese Cherry Blossom Mask @ $2.00 each
  • 2 Holika Holika: Cucumber Essence Mask Sheet @ $2.00 each
  • 2 Holika Holika: Pomegranate Essence Mask Sheet @ $2.00 each
  • 2 Lioele Perfect Soothing Essence Mask @ $2.40 each
  • 2 Lioele Perfect Trouble Clear Essence Mask @ $2.40 each
  • 2 Lioele Perfect Pore Control Essence Mask @ $2.40 each
  • 1 Holika Holika: Bulgarian Rose 12hr Moisturzing Cream @ $28.00
  • 1 HH Praha Blossom Essence (free sample)
  • The best things come in 2’s? All of this was $50.84 total. I like to take advantage of free shipping.

For anyone interested, you can use code JSPECIAL1 to save 15% on your purchase. I saved $7.56 with the code, which allowed me to grab a few more masks! I can’t wait to do reviews on some of these items.

Game of Thrones is really picking up. I can’t wait to finish the first season and get started on the second. I will probably dedicate an entire blog entry to GoT later once I finish the first season. This show has everything that I like ;3

My April BirchBox also shipped today. I wonder if this means my May one will come next week? No news on My Glam yet. I would love to start doing giveaways next month and rumor is they will be releasing subscriptions this week. However, I might have messed up a little bit which might cost my the subscription. I was aware that My Glam switched to a waitlist system but didn’t think anything of it. Since the last 2 signups were 1) we release them 2) every man for themselves, I thought I would snag one when subs open. I waitlisted yesterday so hopefully it wont be too late.

Grocery shopping should not be this hard.

    Thursday April 19th, 2012 at 12:11 am

I have no luck grocery shopping, most of it is probably because I don’t do any research. I have a craving for something, I’ll just go directly to the nearest grocery store hoping to find it on sale. It never really works out that way. I’ve recently started making peach smoothies for breakfast. They’re easy to make, healthy, and keep my full until lunch. Of course as soon as I want to start making peach smoothies, they go out of season. I think I was only able to buy them for a couple weeks before I could not find them in stores at all. So after going argh a few times, I started substituting nectarines. I guess nectarines are out of season as well since I only got a couple weeks out of those before I couldn’t find anymore earlier this week. The last few that I bought were also over ripe and not as fresh. I’m not sure what I want to do for a fruit smoothie in the mornings at the moment. I think I’ll try some banana combinations. Peach yogurt is my absolute fave so I much prefer to have peach smoothies but I might see how banana and peaches taste or try strawberry banana smoothies. From what I’ve heard, peaches should start coming around pretty soon.

Speaking of yogurt, this is what mainly led to the post for tonight.

Someone almost wiped out the entire yogurt section at Krogers D: Needless to say, I could not find any of the yogurts that I wanted for my breakfast so I picked up a strawberry banana one that will do and check back again this weekend. I’ve never seen the yogurt section so empty.

I’m going to make some orders at Pretty and Cute soon, probably next week. Most of the face masks that I want to buy and try are currently sold out. I was told that they will restock sometime next week but unfortunately the one mask that I want most will not be restocked :( I have to say that I’m already very pleased with Pretty and Pink’s customer service. I sent them an email about restocking and received a reply within 10 minutes I think and received my second reply almost instantly! They also replied to my tweet later that night. It’s things like this that makes me a very loyal customer so I can’t wait to pick out some new things to try.

My face is finally starting to clear up. I stopped wearing my contacts for the day today even though I hate wearing my glasses for long periods of times. Since I started using the visine eye drops last night and taking out of my contacts, my eye has started to get better. It’s still red towards the bottom but the sides of my eyes seem to have cleared up. I’ll probably hold up on putting back the contacts for a couple more days but I’ll definitely be throwing out the pair that I had. After this, I think I will also seriously look into lasik.

I also want to make some slight edits to the layout soon. I tried making a new one earlier tonight but it went nowhere so I think I’ll play around with this one.
