Happy Mother’s Day!

Monday May 14th, 2012 at 1:25 am

I hope everyone had a fantastic Mother’s Day! :) I had a great time spending half the day with my family. Even though they’re only a 30 minute drive away, I still don’t visit as often as I probably should. Mother’s Day shouldn’t be the only day one appreciates their mom but it’s definitely nice to set aside a whole day just to say “thank you”. My mom has done so much for me growing up and she still does even though she doesn’t have to. I am very thankful to have such a great mother that loves and supports me greatly. Thank you for everything!!

I stopped by my parents earlier today to go out to lunch with them to celebrate Mother’s day. We went to P.F.Chang’s for lunch around 1 PM and they were already packed. I haven’t eaten there in a while and the food is just still as good. I miss P.F.Chang’s back in the old days though, when the food was cheaper and the portions were larger.

We generally always start with the lettuce wraps. These aren’t really an authentic Chinese style dish but it’s probably one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. My dad ordered an asian pear mojito that turned out to be very tasty. I think I’ve started to acquire a taste for mojitos. I remember the first time I had one few years back and didn’t care too much for them. I actually want to try making this at home, it’s not that hard. Even a non-alcholic one would be very refreshing for summer.

Main course is as follows: Mongolian Beef, Mapo Tofu, and Hot Fish

Excuse the poor image quality. I did not have my camera with me and had to use my phone. Everything was delicious. The original plan was for me to pay for dinner but my dad ended up helping out again since he knows I’m low on money >_< *sigh* My parents might not ever hand me something for nothing, but they will always help out when they think I need it. My mom also received a $10 gift card from P.F.Chang's for Mother's Day. It was very sweet of them to do that :) Afterwards, we went to Costco and Sam's Club where my dad bought me some fruits and vegetables. My mom packed everything up for me when I got home. Again...she doesn't have to do these things but she still does without question. Asian moms will always be awesome. I might not be able to get my dad to 100% sponsor my lasik surgery or get me a new ipod that I want so much but can't afford but I seriously appreciate the things my parents do for me here and there. I can genuinely say I am very lucky :)

Some random thoughts to end the night, not long enough to write a paragraph for each ._.

  • It’s been raining ever since last night, annoying but at least my car is clean!
  • Another reason to work towards an iPod, my iPhone only has 1 GB left D:
  • Ended the night with another great episode of Game of Thrones. It’s sad to know there’s only 2 episodes left this season. I hate waiting for next seasons with nothing else to watch in the meantime.
  • I only received 1 out of 2 My Glam tracking numbers?
  • My friends suggest minecraft…I know nothing about it.
